Step-by-Step: Create Your First Listing

1. Log into Your Seller Account

Go to your Smanes dashboard and click “Create New Listing” or “Add Product”. You’ll land on the listing form.

2. Choose Your Product Category

Select the category that best fits your item:

• Hair Extensions

• Wigs

• Hair Care Products

• Hair Accessories

Be specific. “Hair Extensions” is better than a vague category, it helps buyers find you.

3. Add Your Product Title

Write a clear, descriptive title (60 characters or less):

• ✅ “Brazilian Virgin Hair Extensions 20 Inches – Straight”

• ❌ “Hair Extensions”

Include the key details: type, length, texture, condition (new/gently used). Titles with specifics get more clicks.

4. Upload Your Photos

Click “Add Photos” and upload at least 3 images:

• Photo 1: Full product shot (the hero image, what buyers see first)

• Photo 2: Close-up showing texture and condition

• Photo 3: Product in use or alternate angle

Pro tip: Photos should be well-lit, clear, and show the actual product. Avoid filters or heavy editing, buyers want to see what they’re getting.

5. Write Your Product Description

This is where you sell. Write 150-300 words covering:

• What it is: “100% virgin Brazilian hair extensions, 20 inches, straight texture”

• Condition: “New, never worn” or “Gently used, worn 3 times”

• Specifications: Length, weight, color, material, origin

• Why it matters: “Perfect for adding volume and length without heat damage”

• Care instructions: “Wash with sulfate-free shampoo, air dry recommended”

Be honest about condition. Buyers appreciate transparency and are less likely to return items described accurately.

Example description:

“These virgin Brazilian hair extensions are 20 inches of pure quality. Straight texture, natural black, never been worn. Perfect for adding length and volume without the commitment of permanent extensions. Comes with care instructions. Ships within 2 days.”

6. Set Your Price

Research similar products on Smanes and other marketplaces. Price competitively but fairly:

• Factor in your costs (product, packaging, shipping)

• Check what similar items sell for

• Remember Smanes takes a commission (review our fee structure)

Don’t underprice to rush a sale, you won’t make money, and buyers may expect low quality.

7. Set Your Product Condition

Select from:

• New: Never used, original packaging

• Gently Used: Worn a few times, excellent condition

• Used: Regular wear, some signs of use

• Refurbished: Professionally cleaned/restored

Match this to reality. Mismatched condition claims lead to disputes and returns.

8. Shipping Details

• Weight: Estimate the package weight (important for shipping cost calculation)

• Dimensions: Length x Width x Height (optional but helpful)

• Processing time: How long before you ship? (e.g., 1-2 days, 3-5 days)

Faster processing = more sales. Be realistic about what you can deliver.

9. Add Tags (Optional but Recommended)

Tags help buyers discover your listing:

• “Straight Hair Extensions”

• “Virgin Hair”

• “Hair Growth”

• “Gently Used”

Use 3-5 relevant tags. Don’t spam, it looks unprofessional.

10. Review & Publish

Double-check:

• ✅ Title is clear and specific

• ✅ Photos are high-quality and honest

• ✅ Description is detailed and accurate

• ✅ Price is competitive

• ✅ Condition is truthful

Click “Publish” or “List Now”. Your product is now live.
